Chain oiling methods and precautions

Lubrication of chain is an important step to ensure its normal operation and prolong its service life. The following are some effective oiling methods and precautions:
- Avoid wrong oiling Don’t spray oil on the center shaft and hub: these parts should not be oiled, and oil spraying will lead to mechanical failure. Avoid spraying on the outer tires: be careful when applying, do not spray the lubricant on the tires.
- Use the appropriate tools Correct way of oiling: you can use a rag to block under the chain and oil to the top of the chain to avoid oil splashing to other parts.
- Dry fly wet chain Ideal lubrication condition: We recommend using the concept of “dry fly wet chain”, i.e. keep the surface of the chain dry during lubrication, and keep the internal lubrication at the same time.
- Precautions for using WD-40 Chain cleaning: WD-40 can be used for chain cleaning, but it is not suitable for long-term lubrication. It is better to apply special chain oil after cleaning. Short-term effect: The lubricating effect of WD-40 is weak, and the chain is easy to be dry and wear faster after use.
- Avoid using improper oil Machine oil and other mechanical oils: Although these oils have good lubrication, they are easy to be thrown out and will be stained with dust, so it is recommended not to use them. Radiation grease: lack of penetration performance, can not effectively lubricate the chain, and easy to stain the dust.
- Maintenance Precautions Check the running status: Before using the chain, check whether it is running normally and whether the tightness is suitable. Close the chain gate before starting: Make sure to close the chain gate before starting to avoid risks. The chain brake should be loosened before working to avoid damaging the bearings. Avoid friction: Make sure that the chain does not rub against the ground or other objects when rotating. Timely oiling and antirust treatment: the chain should be oiled regularly and coated with antirust paint, and should be replaced in time if it is rusty to enhance the working efficiency. Regular inspection and maintenance: the chain should be inspected frequently, if there is any broken chain or de-chaining, it should be repaired in time and the reason should be found out. By following the above oiling methods and maintenance precautions, the working efficiency of the chain can be effectively improved and its service life can be prolonged.
