Aluminum dross is a by-product produced in the process of aluminum smelting, which contains a large number of unreacted metallic aluminum and its oxides. The aluminum dross ball mill is based on the traditional mineral processing ball mill, and is specially improved for the hot, brittle, light, and easily oxidized characteristics of aluminum dross. It integrates energy-saving, environmental protection, and high-efficiency advantages, making it an indispensable key equipment in the regeneration and utilization of aluminum dross.
Aluminum dross ball mill features:
- Multi-bin structure design: enables staged coarse and fine grinding of aluminum dross, improving grinding efficiency.
- Wear-resistant internals: Equipped with wear-resistant steel balls and special lining plates inside the mill body, providing excellent wear and corrosion resistance and extending equipment service life.
- Efficient dust collection: The discharge end is equipped with a special dust collection cover and knocking screening system, effectively reducing dust pollution and keeping the workshop clean.
- Stable and flexible operation: The speed, ball loading, and liner layout can be adjusted according to the characteristics of different aluminum dross, adapting flexibly to various working conditions.
- Utilization of residual heat: Fully uses the residual heat energy of hot aluminum dross, requiring no extra heating and thus reducing energy consumption.
Advantages of aluminum dross ball mill:
- Significantly improved recovery rate: Optimized design of grinding media and liners fully releases aluminum particles, facilitating subsequent sorting and achieving a much higher aluminum metal recovery rate than traditional equipment.
- Lower investment costs: Integrated drum screening function eliminates the need for additional vibrating screens, reducing basic investment and maintenance costs.
- Energy saving and environmental protection: Directly utilizes the energy from hot slag during grinding, with no reliance on coal, oil, or other fuels, thus reducing energy expenditure and carbon emissions.
- Excellent production environment: Equipped with an efficient dust collection system for effective dust control, improving the operating environment and meeting modern green manufacturing requirements.
- Easy to operate and maintain: Compact overall structure, standardized design of wear parts for easy replacement, minimal maintenance workload, and short downtime.
Working principle of aluminum dross ball mill:
Aluminum dross is evenly fed into the ball mill cylinder via a feed screw. The first bin mainly performs rough crushing and preliminary grinding. As the cylinder rotates, the steel balls inside are lifted to a certain height and then fall freely, using gravity impact to crush the aluminum dross particles. When the particle size is reduced to a certain level, the aluminum dross enters the second bin for further fine grinding. Under the combined action of steel balls, steel segments, and special lining plates, the aluminum dross is ground to a finer particle state. The processed fine powder is discharged through the discharge grate plate at the end and enters the next aluminum sorting or purification process.
Application areas of aluminum dross ball mill:
- Aluminum smelting industry: Aluminum dross recycling and treatment in aluminum plants, extraction of metallic aluminum.
- Renewable resources industry: Scrap aluminum recycling enterprises for aluminum dross fine grinding and purification.
- Chemical industry: Treated aluminum dross is used to produce aluminum chloride and other water treatment chemicals.
- Aluminum electrolysis industry: After processing, aluminum dross can partially replace cryolite as electrolysis raw material, reducing production costs.
- Building materials industry: Aluminum dross powder can be used as part of refractory materials and special cement additives.
