Working Principle of Lime Rotary Kiln

  1. Limestone is fed from the top of the vertical preheater, and heat exchange with the high temperature flue gas flowing from the tail of the rotary kiln, so that the material temperature rises to about 800 °C and partially decomposed. Subsequently, through the hydraulic pushing device into the rotary kiln cylinder to continue to be heated, to complete the main calcination process (the temperature is generally in the range of 1200 ~ 1350 °C), the complete decomposition of limestone to generate calcium oxide (quicklime).
  2. The calcined lime from the kiln head falls into the vertical cooler, and the drum into the cold air for heat exchange, was rapidly cooled down to near room temperature, while the hot air is introduced into the kiln as combustion air, to achieve heat recovery and energy saving. The cooled lime is discharged from the discharging system and can be directly fed into the screening or finished product storage system.
