rotary kiln with single or double barrel for building ceramic granule

Building ceramic rotary kiln according to the structure is divided into single cylinder type and double cylinder type two types, of which the double cylinder structure is mostly composed of preheating section and roasting section in series.

Description

Building Ceramic Grain Rotary Kiln Overview

The so-called “building ceramic grain” refers to the clay, fly ash, shale, sludge and other raw materials, after granulation and high temperature firing to form lightweight porous granular materials, because of its light weight, high strength, good thermal insulation properties, widely used in construction, environmental protection, gardening and other fields.
Construction pottery rotary kiln using materials in the kiln tumbling and moving forward to complete the drying, preheating and calcination process of the material, with strong continuity, temperature control and stability, high thermal efficiency, is an irreplaceable and important equipment in the modern production of ceramic granules.

Features of Rotary Kiln

  1. Diverse structure: single cylinder or double cylinder structure can be selected to meet different capacity and process requirements.
  2. High thermal efficiency: through the optimization of the cylinder tilt angle and rotation speed, improve the contact efficiency of the material and hot air flow.
  3. Smooth operation: adopting high strength heat-resistant material and reasonable support system to ensure the stability under long-term high temperature operation.
  4. Good environmental protection: advanced combustion system design, equipped with perfect exhaust gas treatment system, effectively reduce dust and harmful gas emissions.
  5. Intelligent control: Equipped with PLC automatic control system, it can monitor the temperature, pressure, speed and other key parameters in real time to realize fine management.

Advantages of Rotary Kiln

  1. Energy-saving and high-efficiency: adopting frequency conversion speed control system and new type burner to reduce energy consumption and improve thermal efficiency.
  2. Multi-purpose: Drying, preheating and roasting are completed in the same system, no need to configure multiple additional equipment.
  3. Excellent pollution control: the whole process of negative pressure operation, effectively inhibit flue gas leakage, high dust recovery rate.
  4. Compact layout: small footprint, lightweight system equipment, suitable for small and medium-sized or site-restricted production line.
  5. Easy maintenance: equipment design humanization, maintenance window, easy to clean, maintenance and replacement of wearing parts.

Working Principle of Rotary Kiln

The core principle is to rotate the cylinder so that the material is constantly tumbling and slowly moving forward under the action of tilting to realize heat exchange and reaction. The production process is divided into the following steps:

  1. Feeding: pre-made wet or dry granules enter the preheating section through the chute at the end of the kiln;
  2. Preheating and drying: the moisture is gradually evaporated under the action of rotating and high-temperature flue gas of the material;
  3. Roasting reaction: the material enters the main kiln (roasting section), and the fuel is burned in the kiln head through the burner, releasing a large amount of heat energy;
  4. Physical and chemical changes: in the roasting zone, the material undergoes various changes such as dehydration, foaming, oxidation, etc., forming hard and porous ceramic grains;
  5. Discharge cooling: the finished product is unloaded from the kiln head into the cooling system;
  6. Flue gas treatment: high temperature exhaust gas reverse flow into the tail end of the dust removal device, after multi-stage purification and discharge.

Raw Materials for Ceramic Granule Preparation

  1. Sludge pellets: municipal sludge resource treatment, converted into building light aggregate;
  2. Fly ash ceramic granules: the use of industrial waste residue, reduce production costs and improve resource utilization;
  3. Shale/clay ceramic granules: traditional natural materials, processed for lightweight concrete;
  4. Contaminated and discarded soil: used for soil remediation and reuse, environmental protection and economy at the same time.

Downstream Application Areas

  1. Construction building materials: used for manufacturing lightweight concrete blocks, thermal insulation panels, load-bearing wall materials;
  2. Municipal engineering: used for rainwater filtration layer, drainage system;
  3. Environmental protection engineering: used as sewage treatment filter media, heavy metal adsorption media;
  4. Landscaping: used for roof greening, three-dimensional flower beds and other areas of lightweight filler materials.
