Principle of Rod Mill

The working principle of rod mill is similar to that of ball mill, which utilizes the rotating cylinder to drive the internal grinding media movement to impact and grind the materials. The difference is that the rod mill is loaded with steel rods instead of balls. When the cylinder rotates, the steel rods are brought to a certain height under the effect of centrifugal force and friction, and then fall down freely, which impacts the materials below, and at the same time, the steel rods will also squeeze and grind the materials between each other. Due to the formation of line contact between the steel rods, the crushing effect is more gentle and selective, thus effectively controlling the particle size of the product and reducing the generation of fine powder.
